WordPad is word processor program where user can create a letter, notes and official document and user can format that document like Bold, Italic, underline, inserting picture, text color, bullet style etc.

The extension of WordPad is “.DOC” (Document) or “.RTF” (Rich Text Format).

How to start WordPad

There are following parts of WordPad screens: -

v Quick access toolbar: - It display left top side of title where available some command for frequently use. By default it displays save, undo, redo but user can add command according to need.

v Ribbon: - the ribbon is located below the quick access toolbar which consist all the commands we use in WordPad.

v Ruler: - The ruler is located below the ribbon. It is used to change the format of your document quickly.

v Status bar: - It displays the above of taskbar which display the information about Number button, caps lock button.

v Zoom: - It is used to increase and decrease the page of your document. We can maximize the size up to 500% and minimum is 10%. The actual size is 100%.

Menu Button: - It display below of the control box. Which consists new, open, save, print and page setup option.

There are available several commands in menu button: -

New (Ctrl + N): - It is used to insert new blank document.

Print (Ctrl + P): - It is used to print the current file on paper.

Print Preview: - It previews the pages before printing.

Find (Ctrl + F): - It is used to search the specific word / sentence in the document.

Ø Put the cursor on beginning of the page

Ø Type specific word in “find what” box

Ø Click on find next

Replace (Ctrl + H): - It is used to change the specific word in document.

Ø Type incorrect word in “find what” box

Ø Type correct word in “replace with” box

Ø Click on replace / replace all

Select All (Ctrl + A): - It is used to select all the text.

Zoom In: - It is used to increase the page size.
